Description
When getting technical on the flow trails, the Santa Cruz 5010 is our go-to bike for an aggressive and agile ride. Known for its nimble handling, mixed-wheel setup, 130mm of VPP suspension, and aggressive geometry, the 5010 has all the ingredients to make a downright fun bike. This revised version of the 5010 has less anti-squat to reduce pedal kickback and increase traction, and a more linear leverage curve that turns more progressive as we move toward the end of travel and aids in bottom-out resistance. Size-specific chainstays ensure an agile ride for every frame size, and a steep 77-degree seat tube angle allows us to be in a perfect climbing position when it’s time for another lap. The 5010 features chainstay and downtube protectors to protect our frame from chips and scratches, and a shuttle guard helps protect our paint job and downtube when transporting our bike to the trailhead. When planning on hitting more technical and steep trails for the day, the flip chip in the rear shock link allows us to make the 5010 lower, longer, and slacker for more confidence when things get steep. The R build of the Santa Cruz 5010 gives us quality components at a more budget-friendly price point. First, Santa Cruz’s Carbon C frame gives us a stiff and lightweight frame and is made to the same standards as Santa Cruz’s Carbon CC frame but at a slight weight penalty. Fox’s Float Performance rear shock is entry-level but supplies us with simple adjustments and a reliable build. SRAM’s NX Eagle drivetrain gives us a huge 11-50 tooth gear range so we can pedal up any technical climb with ease, and to wrap it up, this build receives SRAM G2 R brakes, giving us 4-pistons of power in a lightweight package.*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
