Description
Black Diamond designed the top-loading Mission 75 Backpack to be a lightweight expedition-sized hauler for alpine assaults and extended backcountry trips, so hauling those massive loads at altitude won’t be such a painful experience. The Mission’s ReActiv hip belt uses a floating design to allow your waist to move naturally, and distributes weight efficiently once the hip belt is tightened down. SwingArm shoulder straps work with the thermoformed back panel to provide the ideal combination of flexibility and support, allowing you to cover more ground with less stress, which might seem wimpy but is essential when you’re out for a long time and little rubs and hot spots start to add up and make you miserable. A low-fat, streamlined design keeps the Mission light but, as you’d expect from Black Diamond, it has vertical DNA, so it doesn’t skimp on the necessary features. It comes replete with a PickPocket ice tool carrying system, crampon pouch, and three-point haul system, so you can take your gear with you when steep trekking gets vertical during the final push. The Mission is hydration-compatible, too, so you don’t end up desiccated like the arid regions you’re moving through, and the padded hip-belt is removable to save weight and reduce bulk. You can also remove the top of the pack and stow your rope in the tuck-away strap if you’re looking to shave off ounces but keep your essential gear close by.
