Description
Fitting squarely in the down-country category, the Diamondback Yowie is Diamondback’s newest full-suspension addition and has the efficiency of a cross-country bike and the capability of a trail bike. Complete with 29-inch wheels, 110mm of Level Link suspension, and an aluminum frame, the Yowie is ready to tear up flowy singletrack with a slacker head tube angle than some of Diamondback’s longer travel bikes. The Yowie deploys a 67-degree head tube angle to give us more confidence when the trail gets steeper and still maintains laser-like precision handling. A 75-degree sat tube angle centers us over the bike’s center of gravity for more efficient climbing, and short chainstays across all sizes give us an agile rear end. The Yowie is fitted with an integrated chainstay protector to protect our frame from chain slaps, and a water bottle mount inside the front triangle allows us to easily access our water bottle. The Diamondback Yowie 1 is fitted with a quality components spec that doesn’t include the hefty price tag. First up, Diamondback’s 6061-T6 aluminum alloy frame gives us a super solid and durable platform for aggressive riding. SRAM’s SX drivetrain sports a big 11-50t, 12-speed gear range to help get us up any technical climb and has proven reliability. A RockShox Deluxe Select rear shock and a 35 Silver, 130mm fork provide bump-eating performance, and the fork has a lockout to help us climb more efficiently. Finally, Maxxis Rekon tires give us traction while keeping the rolling resistance and weight to a minimum. *Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
