Description
Believe it or not, the Ibis Ripley AF is a shredder of a trail bike and the even more capable aluminum cousin of the beloved carbon fiber Ripley. Sporting 120mm of DW-Link suspension, the Ripley AF excels on all trails from fire roads to blue square descents. The stout aluminum frame and dual 29-inch wheels pair together to manifest monster truck capability, giving us a bike that blasts through rock gardens and down chunky descents with ease. A slack 65. 5-degree head tube angle gives us more capability when riding steeper and rougher trails while still being composed enough to make it down tight switchbacks. A 76-degree seat tube angle centers us over the center of the bike, positining or legs in the most efficient position for climbing, and the short stack height and short seat tube allow us to run a longer stroke dropper post so all-sized riders can get a balanced fit. The Ripley features short 432mm chainstays, making for a playful bike, while the moderate-sized wheelbases give us the perfect balance of stability and maneuverability. The Ripley features integrated downtube and chainstay protectors to keep our frame looking fresh, and a wider 55mm chain line gives us enhanced stiffness. Lastly, the frame received a Universal Derailleur Hanger to make finding replacements super easy and available at any bike shop. The NGX build of the Ibis Ripley is an entry-level build, yet comes with reliable components that have a proven track record. First up, Ibis’s aluminum frame gives us a durable and all metal platform to shred on. Next, the 12-speed mixed SRAM GX and NX Eagle drivetrain gives us one of the most trusted drivetrains on the trails today and a huge gear range for conquering technical climbs. Fox Performance suspension steps this build up, giving us a reliable Float 34 Performance 130mm fork for sending it down rough trails, and a lightweight DPS Performance rear shock smooths out the trail and has a compression and rebound adjustments for fine tuning.
