Description
From big-mileage epics to enduro race days, the Ibis Ripmo AF is a versatile steed for trail and enduro riding. With progressive geometry and capable DW-Link suspension, the Ripmo makes quick work of nasty terrain. The AF model omits the carbon construction of the original Ripmo, instead favoring a reliable aluminum build that can take the hard knocks of your shuttle-packed afternoons and lift laps. Aside from the alloy construction, there’s really no major difference compared to the standard Ripmo, but we can rejoice in the cost savings and peace of mind of an alloy frame. 29-inch wheels help us soar through technical chunder, and a longer, slacker geometry gives us the confidence to crush adrenaline-inducing steeps. The 64. 9-degree head tube angle gives the Ripmo AF a planted and steady ride feel at high speeds, while the 76-degree seat tube angle puts us in a powerful pedaling position, so climbing doesn’t feel like a chore. The Ripmo AF Deore Air kit delivers durability and high performance in a package that won’t break the bank when it comes time for maintenance and replacement parts. Shimano’s reliable 12-speed Deore drivetrain handles the shifting duties and offers a wide gear range, so we don’t have to feel like we’re over-geared on enduro race transfers or under-geared for big days at the bike park. We get a Marzochi Bomber Air shock with 147 millimeters of DW-Link travel out back that feels smooth and efficient and a longer 160-millimeter Marzochi Bomber Z1 Coil fork to soak up bigger hits and rowdy trail sections. A set of bombproof Blackbird Send wheels rounds out this build to keep us rolling through even the gnarliest terrain. The Ibis Ripmo AF Deore Air Mountain Bike is a do-it-all, hard-charging bike built for riders on a budget. *Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change.
