Description
Positioned as a short-travel trail bike with an appetite for some gnar, the Joplin Carbon CC X01 Eagle Mountain Bike takes cues from Juliana’s trail bikes and cross-country bikes. The lower-link VPP suspension platform delivers the same design as their longer travel trail bikes, only with a shorter 120mm of travel to provide trail-inspired composure and efficiency that’s slated towards the XC side of the spectrum. 29in wheels front and rear gobble up janky tech found in places like Moab and Bellingham, and they help us hold our momentum as we cruise through our favorite cross-country loops. Juliana stretched the Joplin slightly to add stability with a 65. 5-degree head tube angle (low position) without going over the top to retain plenty of maneuverability for tight switchbacks. We really appreciate the Glovebox in-frame storage system that lets us stash tools and gear in the bike so that we don’t have to wear a hip pack. This Joplin build features some impressive components, starting out with SRAM’s X01 Eagle drivetrain that sets the standard in premium MTB drivetrains for its lightweight design, reliable functionality, and crisp shifting. This Carbon CC frame is the top-tier construction from Juliana, offering an impressively lightweight feel on the trail that’s also super durable. The alloy Race Face ARC Offset 30 wheels are a favorite for their stout feel and bomber resistance to dents. The Pike Ultimate fork from RockShox offers lots of adjustments and 130mm of travel to strike the perfect balance between plow, play, and pedal. This Joplin build functions great as a quiver of one for the rider who prefers undulating trails without a whole lot of elevation loss, or as a dedicated trail bike for the gravity rider who already has a longer-travel steed. *Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change.
