Description
The Norco Optic is an aggressive short-travel shred sled built for lapping rowdy descents all day long. We get the best of both worlds with the combination of a lightweight carbon front triangle and a durable aluminum rear triangle, which not only saves some cash but also improves the overall ride feel. The 125mm of Horst Link rear suspension looks tiny on paper, but when it’s paired with the custom-tuned Fox Performance Elite FLOAT X it feels seemingly endless. Even on chunky descents that may be better suited for an enduro bike, it provides plenty of rear wheel traction in any direction without sacrificing pedaling efficiency. A steep 76-degree seat tube angle makes climbing a breeze, and the steep 65-degree headtube angle creates stability at speed and precision handling to devour the trail ahead. Size-specific chainstays round out the Optic frame for an agile and playful feel across the entire size range, no matter how tall we are. The Norco Optic C1 is spec’d with high-performance components selected so that we can keep our minds on the trail. The drivetrain duties are taken care of by Shimano’s high-end XTR 12-speed drivetrain that maximizes shifting precision while minimizing weight. A wide-range cassette ensures we can keep the pedals turning for a second lap while a pair of 4-piston XTR brakes allow us to modulate our speed with knife-like precision on descents steeper than our heart rate spike. The Optic C1 also gets a Fox Performance Elite 36 fork with 140mm of gravity-eating travel and the highly tunable GRIP2 damper, along with 29er Stan’s Flow S1 wheels for rolling up and over any feature we come across. Whether we’re an enduro racer looking for a daily trail ripper or just looking for a one-bike quiver to do it all, the Norco Optic C1 Mountain Bike is built to work hard, so we can play harder. *Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to ch…
