Description
When our rides consist of ripping singletrack at Mach speed and finessing our hand-built jump lines, the Rocky Mountain Instinct is our weapon of choice. The Instinct features slack, aggressive geometry, 29-inch wheels, and 140mm of Smoothlink suspension to bring us a trail bike that excels all over the mountain. The lightweight design paired with the Rocky Mountain’s Smoothlink suspension system allows us to maintain our speed through rougher terrain, rocket up technical climbs, and descend gracefully. Rocky Mountain’s Ride-9 adjustment system gives us nine settings to customize our frame geometry and ride feel, giving us the ability to steepen up our angles when riding for more miles with more elevation gain and slacken and lower the frame when we are doing laps at our favorite trail system or bombing more aggressive terrain. In the neutral setting, a 65. 7-degree head tube angle keeps us under control when riding steeper trails, and the 76. 7-degree seat tube angle ensures we are centered over the pedals for an efficient climbing position. The 2-position adjustable axle allows us to adjust our chainstay length independently of our frame geometry to give us a more stable or playful ride. A medium-length wheelbase and a steep 76. 6-degree seat tube angle give us an efficient climbing position, and a stable platform for a balanced ride feel. Wrapping things up on the frame, the Instinct is finished off with integrated downtube and chainstay protectors to keep our frame looking nice, and internal cable routing cleans up our frame and gives us a sharp look. The Carbon 70 Shimano build of the Rocky Mountain Instinct brings together quality components that have a trusted reputation. First up, Rocky Mountain’s Smoothwall carbon frame optimizes its stiffness-to-weight ratio to give us premium ride quality and a lightweight frame. Next, Shimano’s XT drivetrain gives us a wide range of 12-speed gearing, ensuring we have the perfect gear for any technical climb. We’l…
