Race-bred to leave the competition in the dust, the Highball is our weapon of choice for everything from sprints to ultras. 29-inch wheels, a super lightweight frame, and progressive geometry pair together to give us a brawler of an XC bike that will have the competition rethinking its rear suspension. The rigid rear end is lightning-fast up climbs and makes for a nimble and lightweight ride, and the dropped seat stays help eliminate vibration and energy transfer to the rider, giving us more capability and a smoother feel in technical terrain. Santa Cruz fitted the Highball with a 67-degree headtube angle, giving us the perfect middle ground between snappy handling and downhill stability, while its 73. 5-degree seat tube angle ensures an efficient climbing position that is centered over the bottom bracket for optimal power transfer. The Highball is finished off with downtube and chainstay protection, three water mounts in the front triangle, and sleek and silent internally-guided cable routing. The GX Transmission AXS build of the Santa Cruz Highball is the perfect high-level build spec to excel on the trails. Santa Cruz’s Carbon C frame offers us value-based performance and is made to the same standards as their more premium Carbon CC frame, just at a slight weight penalty. SRAM’s GX Transmission AXS drivetrain equips us with precise electronic shifting and a durable design so we can focus on the race and not our shifting.
