Description
The Santa Cruz Highball is our go-to bike when the circumstances call for lightning-fast, efficient characteristics only a hardtail can provide. With 29-inch wheels, a super lightweight frame, and progressive geometry, the highball was born to race. The short, rigid rear end makes for an agile and lightweight ride, and the dropped seat stays help reduce feedback to the rider, giving us a smoother feel in technical terrain. The Highball has a 67-degree headtube angle, giving us the perfect middle ground between snappy handling and downhill stability, while its 73. 5-degree seat tube angle ensures an efficient climbing position centered over the bottom bracket for optimal power transfer. The Highball finishes with downtube and chainstay protection, three water mounts in the front triangle, and sleek and silent internally-guided cable routing. The S build of the Santa Cruz Highball is the optimal low to mid-level mid that gets us the most value for our money. The Carbon C frame is made to the same standards as their more premium Carbon CC frame but with a slight weight penalty. SRAM’s GX Eagle drivetrain equips us with a proven 12-speed drivetrain that excels on the trails with its huge 10-50 tooth cassette. RaceFace AR Offset 27 rims fitted with DT Swiss 370 hubs give us smooth-rolling performance all over the mountain, and the hubs can be upgraded down the line for more engagement. The RockShox SID SL Select+, 100mm fork, is a dedicated XC race fork and has a remote lockout connected to SRAM’s TwistLoc Ultimate grips so we can change our fork settings on the fly. SRAM’s Level TL 2-piston brakes are lightweight and supply all the power we need, while the supple Maxxis Rekon Race tires roll efficiently and still throw down the grip we need to compete.*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and a…
