Description
The Santa Cruz Tallboy is a cross-country ripper that can dabble in some trail riding. We love the Santa Cruz Tallboy CC X0 Eagle Transmission Reserve Mountain Bike for its ability to hit outside of its weight class while remaining a fast and agile cross-country machine. With 120mm of VPP suspension and a 130mm fork, the Tallboy can handle roots, rocks, or whatever the trails can throw at it. Weighing in at a measly 29 pounds, we were surprised at how capable yet lightweight and agile this bike is. This year, Santa Cruz added a Glovebox to most of their frames, which is a frame storage compartment in the downtube of the frame for storing ride essentials. Another addition is a Sag Window, which helps to make setting and reading the sag of our rear shock easier by providing a hole to look through the frame to our rear shock. This Santa Cruz Tallboy build is far from short spec. Starting with SRAM’s new XO Eagle AXS Transmission drivetrain, this bike features the latest technology in electronic drivetrains for ultra-precise shifting. Next, Reserve’s 30SL carbon fiber rims, paired with Industry Nine’s 1/1 hubs, make for a lightweight and capable wheelset that is tough enough to take anything you can through at them. Fox Factory suspension sends this build level through the roof. It features a Fox Factory 34 Grip2, 130mm fork, and a Factory DPS rear shock, making for an ultra-reliable and adjustable suspension set. To send it home, cross-country-oriented Maxxis tires roll fast and provide traction in various conditions. *Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
