As such, the stronger lofted offering uses a lightweight, stepped carbon crown to reposition mass closer to the sole, lowering the center of gravity. This results in greater COR, the measurement of a club’s ball speed capabilities, and a higher launch, a crucial component in increasing carry distances. Conversely, higher-lofted woods are frequently used on longer approach shots where accuracy is paramount to success. Thus, Srixon opted for a standard crown and slightly elevated CG on the 5 and 7 wood, prioritizing the spin required for precise control and workability.
