Whereas traditional fairways use a flexible face that compresses and decompresses at impact to propel the ball forward, Rebound Frame adds a second layer of flexibility supported by two structurally rigid zones in the frame. The face and frame act like dual springs, creating a multiplier effect that transfers more energy from the club head to the golf ball. By refocusing energy that’s ordinarily lost, Rebound Frame is faster on every strike, especially center-face impacts. In fact, XXIO claims that even the most flexible fairway face cannot transfer as much energy as Rebound Frame’s dual Flex Zones. Rebound Frame works in unison with the Prime 12’s floating Canon Sole weight pad. Shaped like a canon, the pad lowers the center of gravity to improve launch trajectory. Yet, because it’s floating and not fused with the sole, it doesn’t inhibit the face’s ability to flex. It also allows space for a more expansive flat cup face, enhancing overall energy transfer for longer carry distance.
