The SB160 T1 GX/X01 Eagle Mountain Bike is Yeti’s long-awaited enduro racing machine. 160mm of bump-gobbling rear travel is managed by a refined Switch Infinity rear linkage design, revised to deliver a more solid feel on the trail. Yeti builds the bike to handle the gnarliest terrain we can find, with a burly Fox Factory Float X2 shock out back and a Factory 38 GRIP2 fork up front boasting 170mm of travel. Descent-focused features continue with a slack 64-degree head tube angle for straight-lining stability, and the frame is tested using Yeti’s downhill strength standards. While the SB160 certainly pushes the limits of modern enduro bikes and their descending capabilities, it really impresses us while navigating climbs and flatter trail sections. The 29in wheels, steep 77. 5-degree seat tube angle, and supportive Switch Infinity linkage work in tandem to deliver a fast-rolling bike that’s fun to ride on anything from jump lines to bike park tech. This T1 build from Yeti utilizes premium suspension and braking components paired with workhorse drivetrain bits to produce a performance feel without going completely over the top. It’s built on Yeti’s TURQ carbon frame construction, which is their lightest layup available for a touch more efficiency on long days out. A hybrid X01 and GX drivetrain from SRAM delivers predictable shifting characteristics with a durable reputation. The fork and shock feature Fox Factory treatment, including the GRIP2 38 fork which supplies a wide range of adjustments for fine-tuning on race day. Yeti utilizes bombproof Custom EX1700 alloy wheels from DT Swiss to help dampen vibrations and are sure to hold up over time. This build is completely race-ready for the privateer enduro racer, and is efficient enough to use as a quiver killer for riders who stick to steeper, gnarly terrain. *Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to ch…
